EV1.net Houston Bowl

TCU (10-1, 8-0 MWC) is finally heading to their bowl game, the EV1.net Houston Bowl, to face off in a match-up with the Iowa State Cyclones. The #14 Horned Frogs have already won the 2005 Mountain West Conference Chapionship in their first season of league play. They now travel to Houston to finish the season off at 11-1 on the year.

Iowa State (7-4, 4-4 Big XII) is the second place team in the Big XII north division. After their loss to Kansas, the Cyclones tumbled out of the Big XII Championship game. Instead, Iowa State will be facing off with the nationally ranked Horned Frogs in the EV1.net Houston Bowl. The Cyclones look foward to this oppritunity for redemption on their season.

Key Factors
Frogs:
(10-1, 8-0 MWC)
Coach Patterson- The Horned Frogs are led into the Battle at Houston by their 5th year coach. Patterson's defense will be a hard one for the Cyclones to try and penetrate.

Robert Merrill- Junior back that took the starting position after Lonta Hobbs went out against SMU backin September. 800 yards rushing, 9 touchdowns.
Aaron Brown- the young freshman running back from Katy, TX. Brown has been a driving force for the Frogs, with 700 rushing yards and 8 all-purpose touchdowns.
Cory Rodgers- The All-Purpose player. 37 rusing yards, 639 recieving yards, 690 return yards, and 15 touchdowns. Rodgers was named to several All-American teams as a kick returner.
Frog Defense- With a total of 24 interceptions by a combination of players (Coleman, Coleman, White, Smith, Roach, Bonner, Butler, Buchanon, Gallegos, Fitch, and Modkins), the TCU defense will be a driving force in their final game of the '05 season.

Cylcones: (7-4, 4-4 Big XII)
Bret Meyer- The starting quarterbackr for the Cyclones, with 2600 yards passing on the season, as well as 16 touchdown passes and eight interceptions.
Stevie Hicks and Greg Coleman- combined for over 900 yards and six touchdowns on the season.
Todd Blythe- Holds a team high, 895 receiving yards, with seven touchdowns.
Austin Flynn- Has 592 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns for the Cyclones.
DeAndre Jackson- 21 kick returns this season, for a total of 536 yards. Looks to be a major threat in the special teams game.
